Consultations
Engaging with communities and organisations to advance shared objectives through:
-Creating spaces for consultation and design of collaborative projects
-Conducting biannual seminars for advancing the learning among these different groups and ongoing training to key individuals from the community
Resilience Workshop
We are developing series of workshops that address the questions surrounding intergenerational trauma, with a growth focused lens. Re-imagining resilience as ‘post-traumatic growth’ rather than the conventional view of PTSD allows individuals to reflect in a strengths based manner. We seek to raise consciousness and promote social and emotional wellbeing and thereby reducing the manifestations of poor mental health such as substance abuse, domestic violence, suicide, unhealthy lifestyle, social isolation and anti-social behaviour.
Preparation for Social Action
"Preparation for Social Action (PSA)” is offered as non-formal education. The curriculum was developed by FUNDAEC as education for development. PSA is a program that equips young people with the necessary skills to become promoters of community well-being. The PSA curriculum consists of 24 texts aimed at developing the participants’ capacities in language, mathematics, science and community life processes, which encompasses community service as well as the development and the use of appropriate technologies.
Discourse on Social Action
This series of units developed by the Foundation for the Application and Teaching of the Sciences (FUNDAEC) will be of interest to those working to contribute to effective social action conscious of the material and spiritual dimensions of human life. Study of the three units creates a space within which participants are invited to think about the purpose of their learning and action and to advance in their understanding and application of some of the capabilities required to engage meaningfully in activities dedicated to social transformation. There are three units of study: Basic Concepts, Education and Science.
